PSAL baseball roundup: Norman Thomas stays hot, tops Luperon

Norman Thomas stayed perfect in Manhattan A East by rallying for six sixth-inning runs in a 9-3 win over Gregorio Luperon on Tuesday.

Paul Garcia had three hits and four RBIs, Arturo Cotto and Michael German each scored twice, Starling Valera had two RBIs and Jeffrey Ledesma picked up his second win with six strong innings for Norman Thomas (3-0). Luperon is now 2-1.

Manhattan Center 10, Brandeis 0: Ramon Padilla and Edward Diaz each scored once and drove in two runs, Jesus Medina and Chris Sanchez scored twice and Jerry Liang fanned eight in four shutouts innings for Manhattan Center (1-2) in Manhattan A East. Brandeis is 0-2.

Aviation 10, Forest Hills 6: Travis Tatis doubled in two runs, Brandon Bracho had two hits and scored two runs and Patrick Villafana scored twice for Aviation (1-2) in Queens A East. Forest Hills is 0-3.

George Washington 12, FDA 2: Henry Rodriguez, Yasmany Gomez and Nelson Rodriguez each drove in two runs, Randy Rodriguez doubled twice, stole two bases and scored twice and Alexis Torres scored twice for GW (2-0) in Manhattan A East. FDA is 0-3.

Stuyvesant 6, Murry Bergtraum 3: Ben Sydel doubled in two runs, Chris Woo scored twice and Evan Lubin allowed three hits over six innings of work for Stuyvesant (3-0) in Manhattan A West. Bergtraum is 2-1.

Riverdale/Kingsbridge 6, Gompers 3: Aidan O’Brien had two hits, scored once and drove in a run, Sage Cheren scored three runs and added an RBI and Jason Araujo struck out eight in six solid innings for RKA (1-2) in Bronx A West. Gompers is 0-3.

FDR 5, Lincoln 2: Joel Navarro fanned 12 and didn’t allow an earned run in a complete-game effort and Eric Suriel had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for FDR (1-2) in Brooklyn A West. Lincoln is 0-3.

Newtown 10, Lane 5: Jon Demes and Luis Estevez each had two RBIs and scored twice, Victor Urena had two hits and scored two runs and Luisandy Javier knocked in two runs for Newtown (1-1) in Queens A West. Lane is now 0-3.

William Bryant 13, Richmond Hill 0: Nick Alvarez struck out eight in five innings and had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run, his twin brother Chris had three hits, scored three runs and drove in four and Antony De Jesus and Christian Aubry each scored two runs for Bryant (3-0) in Queens A West. Richmond Hill is 0-3.

Beacon 10, West 50th Street 0: Dylan Long had two hits and three RBIs, Gabriel Warshaw and Isaiah Sakany each scored twice and Sakany tossed a three-hitter and struck out seven for Beacon (3-0) in Manhattan A West. West 50th Street is 0-3.
